Want to know how to watch Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson live online, on television, at a bar or anywhere else? You mostly have to have HBO if you're stateside, but we break down all of your options.

Tonight, December 10th, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., WBA and IBF light welterweight champion Amir Khan will put both titles on the line against hometown challenger Lamont Peterson. In the co-main event, rising prospect Seth Mitchell takes a step up in competition as he faces former Olympian Timur Ibragimov. Lamont's brother Anthony will also appear on the card. This is Anthony Peterson's first fight since a disqualification loss to Brandon Rios. So, how can you watch these fights tonight? Unfortunately, your options are fairly narrow if you don't live in the nation's capital.

In the United States, the fight is being broadcast on Home Box Office (HBO). The broadcast kicks off at 9:45 p.m. ET. You must have a subscription to view HBO. Call your local cable provider with any issues related to this. It should be noted there are also no pay-per-view options for this bout. Either you have HBO or you don't. For those in the U.S. who prefer a Spanish-language broadcast, HBO Latino should also be carrying the fight live. Khan is a U.K. resident and a big boxing star there, so Sky Sports1 is also carrying this fight. Again, for those in the U.K., be sure to call your cable provider to see if you get or qualify to get Sky Sports 1.

In terms of online options, there do not appear to be any live streams. Even if you are an HBO Go subscriber, the service will not live stream on your mobile device. You must have a cable service through your television to take advantage of the live stream. This will also not be available on demand tonight, obviously.

You can likely watch this event at a sports bar, so be sure to use Yelp to get the contact information of your favorite watering hole or any sports bar in town. In addition to broadcasting the fight, there may be drink and food specials as well.

If there is any method I've left out here, please list an alternative in the comments section. We'll be sure to update the post with proper and legal methods for watching Khan vs. Peterson: Capital Showdown.

MMA Nation is live and in attendance for tonight's Khan vs. Peterson HBO fight at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. WBA and IBF light welterweight title holder Amir 'King' Khan will put both titles up for grabs against hometown challenger Lamont Peterson. Also on the card is rising heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell who faces durable veteran Timur Ibragimov.

Just so you know, MMA Nation will be in Washington, D.C. tonight to cover tonight's Khan vs. Peterson: Capital Showdown event. The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. ET and the HBO broadcast kicks off at approximately 9:45 p.m. ET. The venue is the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

In America, the event will air on HBO while the U.K. will show the fight on Sky Sports 1.

As we have previously broken down, the odds for this fight favor Khan. Dramatically. Scott Christ over at Bad Left Hook doesn't take issue with the notion Khan is and should be the rightful favorite, but believes Peterson should be closer than the odds currently indicate.

There will be a televised portion of the undercard. In the co-main event, rising heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell jumps up a class in terms of opposition when he faces Timur Ibragimov. This fight will also air on HBO and Sky Sports 1. Bad Left Hook breaks down the rest of the undercard (non-televised):

The off-TV undercard tonight notably features the return of Lamont's brother, lightweight Anthony Peterson, who faces trial horse Daniel Attah after 15 months out of the ring. Attah (26-8-1, 9 KO) was recently seen on October 1 in Puerto Rico, getting whomped by Roman Martinez. Peterson (30-1, 20 KO) is not exactly on the good side of boxing fans after his low blow fest against Brandon Rios, although I suspect that someone hitting Rios in the junk that many times now might get a more favorable reaction from some.

Fernando Guerrero (21-1, 16 KO) also looks to get his ship righted after his first career loss in June to Grady Brewer, a stunning fourth round TKO on Friday Night Fights. Guerrero is in against Robert Kliewer (11-13-2, 5 KO) in what is set up as a very easy bounce-back fight near Guerrero's home base in Salisbury, Maryland.

And then there's Dublin's Jamie Kavanagh (8-0, 3 KO), a Wild Card Gym-trained lightweight who has appeared on HBO's 24/7 a couple times. He'll face Ramesis Gil (6-3-4, 5 KO).

Either way, we'll begin our coverage earlier than the HBO broadcast. Join us for round-by-round scoring for tonight's main event.

As we approach the weigh-ins today for tomorrow's Khan vs. Peterson fight, let's take a look at how the oddsmakers think this one stacks up. Some has suggested Peterson is being profoundly overlooked in this bout, but SB Nation's Brent Brookhouse disagrees. "The thing with boxing odds as compared to MMA odds is that you'll see a wider line in boxing much more often. There's a lot more area for things to change in an MMA fight. In one moment you can be dominating the fight on the feet only to be taken down and quickly submitted," says Brookhouse.

"In boxing things are a bit more stable. While Peterson is good and this is not a 'gimmie' by any stretch, Khan is a better boxer. He's got great handspeed when he decides to use it, he's better at uglying up a fight through timing disruptions like clinch work and he has better power. In the end it's simply difficult to look at Peterson and Khan and see Lamont being able to win enough rounds to take a decision and he lacks the power to reliably change the course of a fight against top level talent. The odds are more indicative of the style match-up than any indication of Peterson's quality as a fighter."

The odds as of the time of this post are as follows:

Brookhouse's analysis seems largely correct to me. Khan is the rightful favorite and given both his explosive speed and clear success against 'next-level' opposition (two components of Peterson's career that are absent), the road for Peterson's path to victory here is hard to see.

Then again, when Manny Pacquiao fought Juan Manuel Marquez for the third time, the odds were similar. Most assumed it would be a blowout given the weight jump for Marquez and his relative poor performance in bouts just prior to their rubber match. Yet, he performed quite ably and while he technically lost a decision, he demonstrated the odds were grossly off the mark. Khan vs. Peterson isn't Pacquiao vs. Marquez for a whole host of reasons - not least of which is that Khan and Peterson are fighting for the first time. I'm just underscoring the idea Peterson is not lost here or an unworthy opposition. He faces an uphill challenge, but the odds shouldn't be taken as ironclad proof of his eminent destruction.

I couldn't possibly match Bad Left Hook's Scott Christ in boxing analysis, so why not just read his? In this superb post, Christ breaks down the five best wins of Amir Khan's now surging career. What stands out to me about Khan's victories is that they come over highly-respected opposition, but he still lacks that signature victory of his career. Even the opponents who he has defeated that boxing insiders deeply respect - Kotelnik, for example - haven't come with career defining moments.

In fact, it's arguable (though not fair) the most defining moment of his career is his sole loss to Breidis Prescott. Lamont Peterson is still a figure more known to insiders than casual fans, but if it's true Khan moves to welterweight should he beat Peterson - a weight division with a host of tough fighters with star power - that means a dominant victory here could be signpost for Khan's career as he takes on new divisions.
