The tape delayed broadcast of UFC 138 collected just 1.8 million viewers, down from previous international events.

As expected, ratings for the UFC's final Spike TV televised event exited on a relative low note. Despite delivering explosive finishes in all five main event fights, a tape-delayed broadcast of UFC 138 earned just 1.8 million viewers, down from the 1.9 million of UFC 120 (London) and 2.2 million of UFC 122 (Germany).

Even with the drop in viewership, the numbers are considered immensely successful by general standards. The three-hour broadcast drew a 1.2 household rating, a 1.54 in males age 18-49, and a 1.71 in males age 18-34. Among basic cable networks in their time slot, UFC 138 ranked first in each of the key demographics. Additionally, according to figures obtained by MMA Nation, the ratings peaked to 2,138,000 viewers during the night's main event, a back-and-forth brawl between middleweight contenders Mark Munoz and Chris Leben.

UFC 138 was held on Saturday, November 5th and marked the promotion's return to Birmingham, England. By comparison, Zuffa's previous trip to Birmingham -- UFC 89 -- collected 3.4 million Spike TV viewers with a headlining attraction of Michael Bisping vs. Chris Leben.

Those watching the live broadcast of UFC 138 may have missed one of the more unusual moments in recent UFC history. Midway through the introduction of middleweight headliners Chris Leben and Mark Munoz, a fan in attendance at Birmingham, England's LG Arena somehow made his way past lines of security and stormed into the Octagon. Video of the bizarre incident can be seen above.

As you can plainly see, the unidentified fan leapfrogs the cage walls during in the closing moments of Leben's oddly-fitting introductory music, Gary Jules' "Mad World". He briefly revels in his moment, parading around "The Crippler" before being briskly removed by security.

Afterwards, UFC President Dana White was surprisingly amused at the affair. Per White's Twitter:

ESPN cut highlights from last night's UFC 138 headlining bout between Mark Munoz and Chris Leben. Munoz was able to use his wrestling skills to repeatedly take Leben down or reverse position when Leben took him down. Once Leben was on his back, Munoz applied some vicious ground and pound to Leben's face. After two rounds of this, Leben was cut up and unable to see out of his right eye, forcing a stoppage.

Here's MMA Nation's play-by-play from UFC 138:

UFC President Dana White was noncommittal when asked about the prospect of bringing back former welterweight contender Paul Daley.

Paul Daley isn't exactly the best of friends with Dana White. The British slugger has engaged in a public on-again, off-again war of words with the UFC President since an unceremonious release from the promotion in mid-2010.

Though it doesn't mean he hasn't stayed busy. Far from it actually, as Daley has ripped through a 6-2 record in various organizations, including a grueling fight of the year candidate with Nick Diaz in April. With all the attention "Semtex" has been garnering, the assembled British media at the UFC 138 post-fight press conference took the opportunity to ask White if the embattled fighter has earned a second-chance inside the Octagon.

"It's not like Daley's been so friendly since that happened," White simply replied, according to reports from John Morgan. "I'm not a fan, to be honest.

"We'll see what happens with [the Strikeforce-Showtime deal] first. I just have a hard time with what Daley did."

Daley was notoriously kicked-out of the UFC immediately after taking a post-fight swing at Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. Since then he has collected wins over UFC veterans Scott Smith, Luigi Fioravanti, Jordan Radev, and Strikeforce number-one contender Jorge Masvidal.

British fans in attendance were treated to an action-packed main card featuring stoppages in all five fights, capped by a bloody back-and-forth war between middleweight contenders Chris Leben and Mark Munoz. The pair engaged in a brutal brawl for ten minutes until a nasty cut above Leben's eye forced a between-rounds doctor stoppage.

"Hard to fight when you're choking on blood," Leben disappointedly said afterward. "It takes a man to know when they're beat, and he beat me tonight."

Also leaving the LG Arena with an extra $70,000 lining their pockets are English countrymen Che Mills and Terry Etim, winners of "Knockout of the Night" and "Submission of the Night" awards respectively.

Mills' bonus was never in question after the veteran welterweight crushed Chris Cope with a brutal pair of knees in just 40 seconds to cap an impressive UFC debut.

"That's what I do," a visibly overwhelmed Mills said. "I feel great. I'm not far from home. I don't even know what to say."

Meanwhile, it took even less time for Etim to shake off the ring rust after a 19-month layoff from the Octagon. The 25-year-old bombarded the overmatched Eddie Faaloloto early, submitting his opponent via guillotine choke in just 17 seconds.

"I'm back now, I'm 100 percent, and I'm ready to make an impact in the division," Etim declared.
