UFC 141: Final Spike TV 'Prelims' Earn 1.8 Million Viewers, Second Best In Series History

Never underestimate the allure of Brock Lesnar.

Friday's night's UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem ‘Prelims' special drew an average of 1.8 million viewers live on Spike TV, marking the highest ratest 'UFC Prelims' special of the year according to network officials. The numbers rank in second throughout the history of the 29-episode series, only losing out to UFC 126's 2 million viewers.

Fight fans witnessed Ross Pearson defeating Junior Assuncao and Danny Castillo edging Anthony Njokuani in hard-fought unanimous decisions. The one-hour broadcast served as a sendoff for Spike TV's longtime partnership with the UFC.

UFC 141 took place on December 30th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lesnar fell to Alistair Overeem via first-round TKO in the night's main event.
