A bantamweight contest between Mike Easton and Ken Stone has been added to the four-bout main card of UFC on FX. UFC officials confirmed the match-up earlier this week.
The former UWC bantamweight champion, Easton (11-1) capped a six-fight win streak with a brutal second-round TKO victory over Byron Bloodworth in his October UFC debut. At just 27 years old, "The Hulk" has amassed an impressive résumé that includes wins over TUF 14's John Dodson and Josh Ferguson, as well as former WEC champion Chase Beebe.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Stone (10-3) recently rebounded from an unfortunate slump to reenter the win column with a first-round submission of Donny Walker at UFC Fight Night 25. Prior to that, the American Top Team product suffered consecutive defeats at the hands of Scott Jorgensen and Eddie Wineland, the latter of which arrived via a devastating slam that left Stone frozen on the mat for several minutes after the bout.
UFC on FX 1 takes place on January 20, 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee. Volatile lightweight Melvin Guillard duels former number-one contender Jim Miller in the night's main event.
UPDATE: Stone has withdrawn with an undisclosed injury, according to UFC officials. The search Easton's replacement opponent is underway.
