UFC officials have set their sights on an as-of-yet unnamed event for May 15th, 2012, at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, according to reports from MMA Weekly.
Reports indicate the show could be the third edition of the UFC's "Fight Night" series on Fox-owned FX.
Additionally, a middleweight contest between Jason MacDonald and Tom Lawlor has been confirmed for the card. With both fighters fresh from losses, a UFC pink slip could be on the line for the loser.
MacDonald (25-15) heads back into action a loser of two of his last three, having sandwiched a win over Ryan Jensen between losses to Alan Belcher and John Salter during his second UFC stint. A feared grappler, the 36-year-old carries a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and 19 submission finishes to his credit.
Across the cage, the 28-year-old Lawlor (7-4, 1 NC) enters on shaky ground after falling into a Chris Weidman d'arce choke in just two minutes at UFC 139. It marked the third loss for "Filthy" over his last four fights.
