To say the UFC doesn't take too kindly to slights is a bit of an understatement, so it was rather surprising to see UFC President Dana White's laissez-faire attitude after hearing word that UFC.com had been hacked on Sunday in response to the company's pro-SOPA stance.
Later in the week, the company brass finally released a statement to concerned customers about the safety of their credit card information.
Via MMAFighting.com:
"On Sunday, January 22nd, the UFC.com website was redirected by a criminal hacker to another website," a statement provided to MMA Fighting read. "The UFC website was quickly restored to the control of the UFC, and there is no evidence suggesting that any confidential information belonging to the company or its customers was compromised by the re-direction of the website. UFC representatives are continuing to investigate the matter and are working with law enforcement agents to prosecute those involved."
Still, as Ben Fowlkes points out, that response rests in strange contrast to White's twitter timeline on Sunday.
