The UFC's long-awaited debut on FX, Friday night's UFC on FX 1 event, drew an average of 1.3 million viewers for the two-hour broadcast, according to figures collected by MMA Nation.
Likewise, the inaugural three-hour Fuel TV Prelims averaged 148,000 viewers.
In total, UFC on FX 1 averaged a 1.19 rating in males age 18-49 and 1.20 in males age 18-34. By comparison, 2011's three Spike TV UFC Fight Night broadcasts averaged a 1.8 rating in males age 18-49, a 1.80 in males age 18-34, and 1.9 million viewers.
UFC on FX 1 aired on January 20th from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Jim Miller defeated Melvin Guillard via first-round rear-naked choke in the night's main event.
Meanwhile, Spike TV collected 1,942,000 total viewers from 9 p.m. to Midnight during the final three hours of their five-hour UFC Unleashed counter-programming marathon, which spotlighted Melvin Guillard. 648,000 viewers tuned in from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., 751,000 viewers tuned in from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., and 543,000 viewers tuned in from 11 p.m. to Midnight.
