Some things never change. Melvin Guillard (29-10-2 (1 NC), 10-6 UFC) can still light up almost any fighter in the UFC lightweight division and Melvin Guillard still has immense difficulty defending submissions. After the bout Miller told Ariel Helwani that Guillard was definitely the hardest puncher he'd ever faced in MMA. For his part, Guillard kept mentioning the fear he saw in Miller's eyes after he landed the first couple of punches. Unfortunately for Guillard, Miller had the presence of mind to overcome any fear he experienced, keep working for the take down and choke out Guillard.
Miller has definitely put himself in the thick of the UFC 155lb title hunt. Champion Frankie Edgar defends his belt against Ben Henderson at UFC 144 in February.
