BAMMA 7 Weigh-In Results: Former UFC Contender Paul Daley Misses Weight

On the eve of BAMMA 7, the British mixed martial arts promotion held official weigh-ins Friday afternoon in Birmingham, England. For the sixth time in the last three years, former UFC welterweight contender Paul Daley failed to make weight. The 28-year-old brawler tipped the scales at 176 pounds, well over the 170 pound limit. He was offered an opportunity to lose the extra weight in a span of two hours but declined. The contest has shifted to a catchweight bout and Daley will be fined a percentage of his purse.

According to BAMMA Head of Business Development Liam Fisher, the sauna in the fighters' hotel malfunctioned approximately and hour before the scheduled weigh-ins. Several other competitors initially missed weight but lost the required amount after receiving an additional two hours to cut.

BAMMA 7 is slated for September 10th at The National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England. The event features two championship bouts and is headlined by a non-title middleweight contest between Jim Wallhead and Frank Trigg.
