The fifth fight of UFC 135, and second of the Spike TV televised prelims is a lightweight contest, Anthony Ferguson vs. Aaron Riley. Ferguson (11-2) returns to the Octagon for the first time since winning the twelfth season of the "The Ultimate Fighter." Meanwhile, Riley (30-12-1) looks to string together consecutive victories for the first time inside the UFC, after alternating wins with losses in his first five fights. The referee is charge of the action is Tom Johnson.

ROUND 1 - The fighters touch gloves to start the bout before immediately trading wild exchanges. Ferguson pushes forward with a leg kick and an uppercut. Riley fakes a right hand before missing with a left high kick. Riley lands a stiff leg kick but eats a pair of jabs for his troubles. Ferguson tags Riley with a straight right that stumbles the veteran. Ferguson continues to press forward and dodges a high kick. The "TUF" veteran pushes Riley against the cage and unloads a series of combinations that just miss. Ferguson storms forward with a wild uppercut and a superman punch. Blood is pouring out of the nose of Aaron Riley. Thirty seconds remain in the round. Riley misses a shot and eats a sharp counter right hand as the bout comes to a close. Between rounds Riley explains that his jaw is broken. The doctors stop the fight.
