Join MMA Nation for a live UStream chat with Jason "Mayhem" Miller, one of the two coaches of the fourteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), today, September 21 at 1 p.m. ET. Miller will be coaching opposite fellow middleweight Michael Bisping. The two are scheduled to fight at The Utimate Fighter 14 Finale on December 3 in Las Vegas. The event will air live on Spike TV.
TUF debuts tonight on Spike TV. This will be the show's final season on the cable network which launched the UFC into popularity in 2005.
Miller is in the very unusual position of making his return to the UFC as a TUF coach after a six-and-one-half year absence. He only fought in the UFC once in April 2005 and as a welterweight, rather than at his usual 185 pound middleweight class. He lost that bout by decision to current UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre.
In the interval, Miller has hosted MTV's popular reality show Bully Beatdown for three seasons and counting. That show debuted in March 2009. On the MMA side, Miller has fought for a number of promotions since his 1 UFC bout including Strikeforce, Japan's Dream and he held the Icon middleweight belt at one point.
He resigned with the UFC after Strikeforce refused to give him more fights following his role in an on-camera brawl at Strikeforce Nashville.
He got the TUF coaching gig after troubled UFC star Chael Sonnen was blocked from hosting the show due to issues with the Nevada State Athletic Commission which licenses the coaches as cage side seconds.
