Larry Merchant and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. have a rather unique relationship and this isn't the first time Mayweather has yelled at Merchant. Tonight at the end of Mayweather vs. Ortiz - which ended in one of the least satisfying if legal ways I've ever seen a major fight end - Merchant had the duty to interview both competitors in the ring.
As you can see in the video, which doesn't fully capture what happened, Mayweather becomes extremely agitated at Merchant's line of questioning. Essentially Merchant was trying to get Mayweather to respond to the criticism that what he did, while legal, was unsportsmanlike.
Mayweather responds by telling Merchant he isn't 'shit' several times. This prompts Merchant to tell Mayweather he'd kick his ass if this were fifty years ago. Mayweather fires back that Merchant wouldn't do 'shit'.
And Merchant was wearing a tuxedo. Class. Sophistication. Cerveza. Con character.
