Waldburger, a 23-year-old submission wiz from Temple, Texas, is looking to rebound from a TKO loss to Johny Hendricks.
Stumpf is making his UFC debut. He fights out of Team Curran in Chicago.
Round 1: Waldburger comes out with a very slick leg kick-trip and immediately takes Stumpf's back. Waldburger is chaining submission attempts but Stumpf initially fights them off with a nice show of defensive acumen. Stumpf backdoors out of an inverted triangle attempt and escapes. Nice exchange! Waldburger immediately takes him back down. Big elbow from T.J. They stand. Stumpf leaps for a flying knee and almost catches Waldburger dropping for a take down. But it misses. Waldburger takes him down and begins chaining submissions. After a series of slick transitions, Waldburger locks in a triangle and gets the tap.
