VIDEO: UFC's Jason 'Mayhem' Miller On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Jason 'Mayhem' Miller was a guest last night on NBC's Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Naturally, he was there to promote the upcoming season of Spike TV's 'The Ultimate Fighter' (it debuts next Wednesday, September 21st). The clip above is a snippet of his appearance, which in and of itself isn't particularly noteworthy.

Fallon describes Miller as a funny guy, which prompts Miller to say he's only a blue or purple belt in funny. Miller adds he's happy to be on the show under the direction of a black belt. I thought that was a rather charming way to describe the matter.

Other than that, it's standard public relations stuff. The first episode is getting a ton of hype as is the alleged rivarly between Miller and fellow coach Michael Bisping. All of this makes me wonder what's really going to carry the show through. If the audience isn't invested in the feud between Miller and Bisping, then the duty will fall on that of the fighters. But even good fights - extremely good fights - won't necessarily keep audiences around. Star power and the use of it matters.
