Pascal Krauss has been scratched from a scheduled welterweight bout against John Hathaway (15-1) at UFC 138 due to an injury suffered in training camp. ‘The Ultimate Fighter 7' veteran Matt Brown (12-10) has agreed to take his place. MMAFighting.com first reported the switch.
Brown is fresh off a career-saving decision win against John Howard at UFC on Versus 4. The victory snapped a three-fight losing streak that threatened the 30-year-old's status within the promotion. Prior to the slump Brown collected wins over Ryan Thomas, James Wilks, and Pete Sell.
Meanwhile, Hathaway has rolled since debuting inside the Octagon two year ago. The promising 24-year-old prospect roared to five wins in six appearances thus far, including high-profile decision victories over Diego Sanchez, Rick Story, and Paul Taylor.
UFC 138 is headlined by a middleweight contest between Chris "The Crippler" Leben and Mark Munoz. The event is slated for November 5th at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England.
