Dustin Green of CSN Washington caught up with UFC bantamweight contender Urijah Faber, who cornered his teammate Chad Mendes against Rani Yahya at UFC 133. Faber talks about Mendes' performance, his own upcoming bout with Brian Bowles in UFC 139, and the UFC bantamweight title picture.
The winner of Faber vs. Bowles is expected to get a title shot against the winner of Dominick Cruz vs. Demetrious Johnson at UFC on Versus 6 in Washington, DC. Faber just lost a tough five round decision to Cruz at UFC 132 in a fight which saw him score the only knock downs of the fight.
Faber, the former long-time featherweight champion of the WEC lost a brutal five round title fight to Jose Aldo in April 2010. His Team Alpha Male cohort Mendes wants to try his luck against Aldo and if anyone can help a fighter prepare for the champ -- presuming he beats Kenny Florian -- it's Faber.
