The UFC is officially returning to Canada. Promotion officials announced Tuesday morning that UFC 140 will be held at Toronto's Air Canada Centre on December 10th, a week after ‘The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale'.
UFC 140 will be the organization's second trip into Toronto, and if it's anything like the first, the UFC is in line for a massive success. April's UFC 129 event at the Toronto Blue Jays' Rogers Centre -- headlined by Canadian icon Georges St. Pierre -- destroyed North American records by pulling in a live gate of $12.075 million while drawing 55,724 fans.
While the Air Canada Centre is a significantly smaller venue -- seating around 20,000 -- it is conveniently situated in the heart of downtown Toronto. The arena currently serves as a home to the NBA's Toronto Raptors and the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs.
As of this point no bouts have been officially announced for UFC 140.
