ESPN has posted a scintillating video highlight reel of the action from last night's heavyweight UFC bout between Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera and Brendan Schaub. It was an action packed 3:09 that saw both men landing double digit "power strikes" as scored by CompuStrike.
Unfortunately for Schaub, Nogueira landed one more power strike and it was a crucial KO punch that dropped Schaub to the canvas. Nog poured it on after the fateful uppercut and never gave Schaub a chance to recover. Schaub falls to 4-2 in the UFC heavyweight division and will have to dig deep in order to contend for a title.
As for Nogueira, it's likely his title-hunting days are through, especially if protege Junior dos Santos takes the title from Cain Velasquez at UFC 139. But never say never, if a 35 year old can beat Brendan Schaub after coming back from hip surgery, anything is possible for the Brazilian legend.
