UFC President Dana White announced today at the UFC/Fox Sports press conference that The Ultimate Fighter will be aired live on FX. UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta expressed his excitement about airing on FX and the new concept.
The first live UFC event on FOX will air Saturday, Nov. 12 at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT.
Fox will air four live UFC events per year according to the terms of the newly announced seven year deal.
"The UFC on FX will put us on a level playing field with all our competitors. Dana and Lorenzo have come up with some new ideas that will revolutionize the show. The show will be shot over 13 weeks and what happens that week will be edited and aired on Friday night followed by a live fight on FX," said an FX executive at today's press conference.
"What I call jive live. The reality will have happened over the last couple of days. The two coaches, their training camps will be right there at the filming of The Ultimate Fighter."
"32 weeks of live fights on FX will revolutionize our network."
Dana White declined to name the main event for the November 12th UFC event on Fox.
It's worth noting that boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao will box Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12th on Pay-Per-View.
