The second fight on the main card of UFC on Versus 5 is a lightweight contest, Charles Oliveira vs. Donald Cerrone, airing live on Versus. Both men enter the match looking to rebound from a loss. After dominating through the first 14 fights of his career, Oliveira is winless in his last two bouts -- losing to Jim Miller and battling to a no contest with Nik Lentz. A veteran of the WEC, Cerrone carries a four-fight win streak into the contest, including victories over Jamie Varner and Paul Kelly. The referee in charge of the action is Mario Yamasaki.
ROUND 1 - The two touch gloves to start the bout. Oliveira lands a leg kick as Cerrone stalks forward. Oliveira lands another inside leg kick, and follows with a head kick. Cerrone lands a brutal knee to Oliveira's stomach. Oliveira backs away and Cerrone accidentally kicks the 21-year-old in the man regions. Oliveira takes a moment and the two touch gloves to resume the action. Cerrone lands a solid left hook-right kick combination. "Cowboy" lands another inside leg kick, but Oliveira responds with a front kick to the body. Cerrone throws a stiff right hand that stuns Oliveira. Cerrone lands another left hand flush and Oliveira drops. Cerrone rushes in and swarms Oliveira with strikes. Oliveira can't defend himself and Yamasaki stops the fight.
