The co-main event of tonight's Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson is a women's welterweight fight for the division's title. Women's welterweight is 135lbs. Champion Marloes Coenen defends her title against challenger Miesha Tate. Coenen enters this bout having most recently defeated Liz Carmouche at Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson. Tate enters this bout after a long layoff, having most recently competed in August of 2010 where she bested Hitomi Akano. This fight is scheduled for five, five-minute rounds.
The fights kick off on Showtime tonight at 10 p.m. ET. For more ways on how to watch, check out our guideline.
In this video, I try to argue despite the layoff, Tate's combination of wrestling with submission grappling might prove too potent of a combination for Coenen. However, a year off from competing in conjunction with Coenen's battle-tested skill set is a tall order for any challenger.
