Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem may have gotten top billing, but Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz stole the show. The two lightweight contenders each earned $75,000 for their incredible fifteen-minute "Fight of Night" brawl in the co-main event of UFC 141.
"I hope I didn't look to sloppy, but I'm glad I got the win," Diaz said after picking up the unanimous decision win. "I want to thank Donald Cerrone for taking the fight. I'm sorry for all the s*** that went down."
Meanwhile, "Knockout of the Night" was never in question. Johny Hendricks earned the $75,000 bonus after flattening top-three welterweight Jon Fitch in just 12 seconds with a left hook from hell. The stunning upset marked Fitch's first non-title loss since 2002 and was Hendricks' third straight UFC victory.
"What did I tell everybody? In every interview I did, I said that I had a left hand," Hendricks gushed. "Everybody has been counting me out. I knew if I hit him with it, I could lay him out."
Without a submission on the night's card, the bonus for "Submission of the Night" was withheld.
