UFC On FX Fight Card: Mike Brown Scratched With Knee Injury

Mike Brown (25-8) has been scratched from the fight card of UFC on FX after suffering a knee injury in training. UFC officials announced the withdrawal on Thursday.

Brown was originally slated to face Brazilian-American submission ace Vagner Rocha (7-2) in a featherweight match-up. Promotion officials are actively searching for a replacement opponent.

A former WEC champion, Brown hoped to return to title contention after erasing a two-fight slump with a tough win over Nam Phan at UFC 133. Prior to entering the UFC, the 36-year-old rotated wins and losses in his final four WEC appearances, earning first round victories over Cole Province and Anthony Morrison between setbacks to Manny Gamburyan and current UFC champion Jose Aldo.

UFC on FX takes place on January 20, 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee. Explosive lightweight contender Melvin Guillard duels former number-one contender Jim Miller in the night's main event.
