A welterweight bout between Jake Hecht and T.J. Waldburger is slated for the fight card of UFC on FX 2. Hecht announced the news this week via Twitter, however promotion officials have yet to confirm the pairing.
A 27-year-old veteran out of Missouri, Hecht (11-2) recently overcame early adversity to earn a second-round TKO over Rich Attonito in his UFC debut. The stunning win pushed the 27-year-old's win streak to four-straight. A victor of eleven of his last twelve contests, Hecht's only setback since his professional debut was a unanimous decision loss to current UFC welterweight Che Mills in late-2010.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Waldburger (14-6) hopes to capitalize on the most impressive victory of his young career, a "Submission of the Night" first-round finish of Mike Stumpf at UFC Fight Night 25. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and former Shark Fights champion has now ripped through four wins in five fights, including triumphs over Pat Healy and David Mitchell, while collecting a total of 11 submission finishes.
UFC on FX 2 takes place March 3rd, 2012 and will air live on FX. A welterweight match-up between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves is the night's main event.
