A middleweight contest between Court McGee and Constantinos Philippou has been tapped for UFC on FX 2. Verbal agreements are in place and the bout is expected to be finalized in the coming days, according to UFC officials.
The 27-year-old champion of "The Ultimate Fighter 11," McGee (13-1) enters the bout riding high on an eight-fight win streak that stretches back to 2007. "The Crusher" is undefeated thus far in the UFC, following up his TUF-winning second-round submission of Kris McCray with consecutive victories over Ryan Jensen and Dongi Yang.
Across the cage, Philippou (9-2, 1 NC) makes a quick return after scoring the biggest victory his career, a brutal first-round knockout of Jared Hamman at UFC 140. The 32-year-old is now 2-1 inside the Octagon, with a split decision win over Jorge Rivera and a decision loss to Nick Catone in his promotional debut.
UFC on FX 2 is slated for March 3rd, 2012 and will air live on FX. A welterweight match-up between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves is the night's main event.
