A welterweight contest between Justin Edwards and Mike Stumpf has been added to the fight card of UFC 143. Terms of the bout have yet to be finalized, but verbal agreements are said to be in place according to UFC officials.

Edwards (7-2), a 28-year-old veteran of "The Ultimate Fighter 13," hopes to dodge a pink slip after dropping two of his first three appearances inside the UFC. Thus far "Fast Eddy" has sandwiched a win over Jorge Lopez between uninspired losses to Clay Harvison and promotional newcomer John Maguire.

Across the cage, Stumpf (11-3) also could be fighting for his job after lasting just four minutes in his UFC debut, a triangle choke loss to T.J. Waldburger. Prior to the setback, the 28-year-old ripped through five victories in six contests to pave his way into the Octagon.

UFC 143 is slated for Super Bowl weekend, February 4th, at the Mandalay Bay Events Centers in Las Vegas, Nevada. An interim welterweight title bout between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit is the night's main event.
