Above is the audio of Monday's media call to promote UFC 141. Featured on the call is former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and former Strikeforce, K-1, and DREAM heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem. UFC Director of Communications Dave Sholler moderated the discussion.
As one would expect, the focus for Lesnar's side of the call was mainly on his health. The former champion made it clear he is in his best shape in years, and proclaimed, "This is a dog eat dog division. It's definitely getting more competitive, so I've got to be more competitive," before abruptly putting an end to the barrage of health questions.
On the other side, Overeem was equally evasive when it came to his recent troubles with the NSAC and questions about his training partners. Though the 31-year-old did speak at length about his desire to add the UFC title to his already crowded mantle, explaining that he is "looking forward to fighting (Junior dos Santos) after Brock," and referring to UFC gold as the "only thing I have left to achieve."
UFC 141 will be held on December 30th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. For a complete rundown of the card, visit MMA Nation's UFC 141 fight card StoryStream.
