A pair of bouts are official for the fight card of UFC on Fuel TV 1. Middleweight veteran Aaron Simpson is set to meet former light heavyweight Ronny Markes and TUF 12 winner Jonathan Brookins will take on featherweight submission ace Rani Yahya.
No word has come if the match-ups will take place on the night's main card.
Simpson (11-2), a former two-time NCAA All-American, hopes to improve on a three-fight win streak that has pushed his name towards title contention. He faces the hefty challenge of Markes (12-1), a 23-year-old prospect out of Brazil's Nova Uniao riding high on a five-fight win streak.
Meanwhile, Brookins (12-4) has his sights set on rebounding after a narrow decision loss to Erik Koch snapped a four-fight run to the UFC. He'll battle Yahya (16-7), a 27-year-old Brazilian mired in a slump of three losses in his last four contests.
UFC on Fuel TV 1 is slated for February 15th in Omaha, Nebraska. Welterweight contenders Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez square off in the night's main event.
