Strikeforce Melendez Vs. Masvidal: Gonzalez Vs. Mendez, Brown Vs. Terrado Finalize Fight Card

The addition of two preliminary bouts has finalized the fight card for Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal. According to promotion officials, middleweights Fernando Gonzalez and Eddie Mendez have agreed to meet on Saturday's undercard, as have welterweights Chris Brown and Herman Terrado.

Gonzalez (17-9), a 28-year-old WEC veteran, heads into the bout mired in a two-fight losing streak after dropping consecutive decisions to Brent Cooper and Joe Williams. He faces Mendez (5-0-1, 1 NC), an undefeated prospect with a pair of first round knockout victories to his credit.

Meanwhile, Brown (6-2), a knockout artist from Spokane, Washington, hopes to extend a five-fight win streak when he takes on Terrado (6-2), a Strikeforce veteran fresh from a first-round TKO victory over A.J. Matthews.

'Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal' takes place December 17th at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California. Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez defends his title against number-one contender Jorge Masvidal in the night's main event.
