After the conclusion of UFC 138 on Saturday morning, UFC President Dana White announced the event's live gate and attendance from Birmingham, England. According to White, 10,823 onlookers lined the sold-out LG Arena, drawing a live gate of $1.5 million. Earlier in the week UFC managing director of international development Marshall Zelaznik revealed the show had already set the arena's revenue record.
British fans in attendance were treated to an action-packed main card featuring stoppages in all five fights, capped by a bloody back-and-forth war between middleweight contenders Chris Leben and Mark Munoz. The pair engaged in a brutal brawl for ten minutes until a nasty cut above Leben's eye forced a between-rounds doctor stoppage.
"Hard to fight when you're choking on blood," Leben disappointedly said afterward. "It takes a man to know when they're beat, and he beat me tonight."
