ROUND 1 - Both fighters come out orthodox, but De Fries opens the round attempting a double. Broughton stuffs it, but now they're clinched along the fence. Hard knee to the body from Broughton, but the referee separates them. De Fries ducks under a right straight from Broughton, but is stuffed on the effort. A modified ankle pick puts Broughton on his back. De Fries is now in side control. Broughton goes base down, but from a front headlock De Fries circles to his back. Broughton goes back down again. And again Broughton goes back to his base. De Fries goes to take the back from a spin and gets it.

ROUND 2 - De Fries clinches again along the fence and uses a double leg scoop to put Broughton down. De Fries transitions to the back and now side control. And again, Broughton goes base down which allows De Fries to get behind him. Broughton manages to reverse position using a kimura to roll De Fries. De Fries defends, but Broughton now on top. Broughton moves to mounted crucifix and unloads punches, but De Fries survives for now.

ROUND 3 - De Fries backs Broughton into the fence again and manages to push Broughton off his base to the ground. De Fries now in side control. De Fries now to the back of Broughton, but again, Broughton goes back down to avoid the advancement of that position. And AGAIN, De Fries moves to Broughton's back. De Fries now in mount. De Fries transitions to north-south in a scramble. Referee Miragliotta stands them up.
