UFC 144 Fight Card: Sotiropoulos Vs. Gomi, Zhang Vs. Garcia Round Out Event

The UFC held a press conference in Tokyo, Japan to formally announce their UFC 144 (UFC: Japan) event and complete the fight card.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) held their pre-fight press conference yesterday to formally announce and promote UFC 144 at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo Ballroom in Tokyo. UFC 144 takes place February 26th at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Among other notes, more fights were announced and formalized at the presser.

Lightweights George Sotiropoulos and former PRIDE lightweight champion Takanori Gomi will face off on the evening's preliminary card. Chinese standout Tiequan Zhang has a bout with Greg Jackson-product Leonard Garcia in a featherweight contest.

In addition, two bantamweight bouts were announced: Japanese superstar Norifumi Yamamoto will face Vaughan Lee and Takeya Mizugaki will fight Chris Cariaso.

Tickets are available for pre-sale on November 28th in Japan through UFC mobile. They will be available on the 29th through WOWOW and Nikkan Sports as well as ePlus in December. Ticket sales will be opened up to other ticket retailers on December 10th.

Ticket Prices (in JPY): 100000, 34000, 19000, 9800, 5800.
