Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, two living MMA legends, put on a fight for the ages last night at UFC 139. The two men rocked San Jose, California's HP Pavilion with a back-and-forth five round war that saw both men display incredible bravery, endurance and will just to survive, much less keep fighting to win.

Henderson hurt Shogun in the first and third rounds but just could not put the indomitable Brazilian away. The right hand Henderson landed in the third round was particularly brutal and it's amazing Shogun remained conscious, much less that he went on to dominate the final two rounds of the fight.

Compustrike summed up the stats from the fight in an email to MMA press: "In what might be one of the greatest UFC fight in recent years, Hendo outlanded Rua 106-66 in first 3 rounds then was outlanded 84-19 in the last 2 in total strikes. Rua outlanded Hendo 90-58 in total power strikes. Rua was able to takedown the excellent wrestler 5 times (5 of 7) and secure 7 dominant positions."
