In the second round of the co-main event of the night and airing on pay-per-view at UFC 139 (Mauricio Rua vs. Dan Henderson), Dan Henderson did more to win in our estimation. MMA Nation gave the second round to Henderson, although it wasn't as exciting as the first. Both fighters scored again, but Henderson was more active and controlled position better.
ROUND 3 - Both fighters exchanging to open the frame. Henderson attempts a knee tap and is stuffed. He also eats a hard middle kick. Henderson chases down a single and into a low single, but Shogun stands immediately. Dan Henderson lands an insanely hard right hand and drops Shogun to the mat. Shogun is hanging on the right side of his hip in a single to survive. Shogun attempts a sweep and is now attempting a heel hook. Henderson able to spin out, but both appear exhausted. Incredibly, beaten and bleeding badly, Shogun is pressing Henderson into the fence. Shogun has Henderson down and lands a few punches before Henderson stands again. Left hook from Shogun.
MMA Nation scores this round 10-9 Henderson.
