Following the thrilling conclusion of UFC 139 on Saturday night, UFC President Dana White announced the show's live gate and attendance from San Jose, California. According to White, 13,173 fans lined the sold-out HP Pavilion, attracting a live gate of $1.268 million.
Spectators in attendance were treated to a legendary main event, as Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Dan Henderson engaged in one of the most grueling wars in recent UFC history. For 25 minutes, the two former champions threw caution to the wind, battering each other until Henderson emerged victorious with a razor thin judge's decision.
"All I've got to say is, that guy can take an effing punch," an exhausted Henderson said afterward. "It very well could be (the toughest fight of my career)."
