In a move that could breath new life into the Eastern mixed martial arts scene, two of Asia's biggest players have reportedly struck a deal. According to reports from MMA-Japan, Singapore-based One Fighting Championship and Japan-based DREAM have agreed to partner for a litany of co-promoted events in 2012.
Per the report, several DREAM fighters have been made available for One FC's February card in Indonesia. Additionally, both organizations have set wheels in motion for a co-promoted event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in March.
DREAM officials expect to put on upwards of six shows in 2012, an increase from the four of 2011. Likewise, One FC plans to stage at least eight to twelve events throughout Asia in the new year, a massive uptick from the organization's lone 2011 card. At this point, it is unclear how often fighters will journey across promotions.
MMA Nation will continue to update this story as it develops.
