UFC On FX Debut Targeting January 20 In Nashville

The UFC's debut on FX has found a home. According to reports from Yahoo! Sports, promotion officials are targeting a return to Nashville, Tennessee on January 20th. Representatives from the Tennessee Athletic Commission and the UFC have yet to confirm or deny the report.

It's unclear whether the event will maintain the mantle of the Spike TV "UFC Fight Night" series or will take on FX-specific title.

Thus far two match-ups have been announced. UFC veteran Josh Neer (32-10-1) returns to the cage against former kickboxing champion Duane Ludwig (22-11) in a welterweight duel, and affable striker Pat Barry (6-4) takes on rising prospect Christian Morecraft (7-2) in a heavyweight clash.

"The first-ever UFC fight card to be televised live on FX is taking shape with two bouts featuring fan favorites known for their fast-paced fights," UFC officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The UFC previously traveled to Nashville in 2009 for UFC Fight Night 18, headlined by a welterweight tilt between Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann.
