For the first time in three years, the UFC is heading back to the "Windy City", and they're bringing the bright lights of network television with them. According to reports from Yahoo! Sports, UFC on Fox 2 is tentatively scheduled for January 28th in Chicago, Illinois from the United Center. Promotion officials have yet to confirm the report.
News of the co-promotion's sophomore effort comes on the immediate heels of the breakout success of UFC on Fox 1. The UFC's heavily-hyped network debut shattered mixed martial arts ratings records, averaging 5.7 million viewers and hitting a remarkable 8.8 million peak during the 64-second heavyweight championship.
No contests have been confirmed for the card of UFC on Fox 2, however a rumored mega-fight between UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and brash contender Chael Sonnen has been thrown around. Silva currently remains on the sidelines as he recovers from shoulder injury, but is expected to be nearing a return to action.
