ESPN has done sports fans everywhere a favor by posting the available highlights from last night's thrilling UFC 136 main event between UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and challenger Gray Maynard. Before watching the video, it should be noted just how spectacular this fight was. Not just the similarity in the first rounds between the second and third fight, but how perseverant the champion Edgar truly is. Here's my live blog last night of round four, the final round:

In the first three rounds, Frankie Edgar survived a deserved 10-8 first frame to Maynard to very likely win both subsequent rounds. Maynard was never able to land with the same effectiveness or even workrate that he did in the first. For more analysis, follow me on Twitter: @SBNLukeThomas

ROUND 4 - Maynard lands a knee after Edgar lands a significant two-punch combo. Edgar lands a hard right hand plus and uppercut and Maynard is hurt somewhat. Edgar really relaxing now and landing hard leg kicks. Another hard outside leg kick from Edgar. Edgar attempts a takedown and while it's stuffed drives a hard punch into Maynard's face. From there two upprecuts and a hard right hook force referee Josh Rosenthal to stop the action.

Maynard is face first into the mat and Edgar retains his title.

UFC 136 results: Frankie Edgar defeats Gray Maynard by TKO referee stoppage at 3:54 of round 4.
