Dana White: Gilbert Melendez Could Be Brought In For UFC Lightweight Title Fight

After today's UFC 136 presser, UFC President Dana White gave an update on the lightweight title picture at today's media scrum after the pre-fight press conference. The president stated that while there are no clear plans for who is next in line for the title, he would be willing to Gilbert Melendez in to challenge for the belt. "I don't have a clear vision. There's so many guys that are so talented that we need to make a fight and get somebody to be a contender or bring (Gilbert) Melendez in and make that fight right away."

He added regarding the possible Gilbert Melendez and Jorge Masvidal title fight in December, "We're still trying to figure this whole thing out. I don't like to speak about Strikeforce that much because I'm not involved in it and I'm not the one doing it. I've purposely taken myself out of that situation. We'll see what happens. I have to run my business so if I have to yank him over here then I'll do it."
