UFC 141 Fight Card: T.J. Grant Vs. Jacob Volkmann Booked For December

Yet another contest has been added to the UFC's end-of-the-year spectacular. A lightweight bout between T.J. Grant (17-5) and Jacob Volkmann (13-2) is the latest addition to UFC 141, which is scheduled for December 30th and headlined by a mammoth heavyweight tilt between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem. Promotion officials announced the news on Monday afternoon.

No rest for the weary for Grant, who makes a quick turnaround after submitting Shane Roller via third-round armbar in early October. The win served as the lightweight debut for the 27-year-old, who hopes to achieve greater success in the UFC's 155-pound division after rotating wins and losses on route to a 3-3 promotional record at welterweight.

Meanwhile, Volkmann looks to continue a discreet four-fight win streak inside the UFC that includes wins over WEC veteran Danny Castillo and British lightweight Paul Kelly. Affectionally known as "Christmas", the 31-year-old was a three-time NCAA All-American wrestler before transitioning to the sport of mixed martial arts, where he promptly ripped through a 9-0 record to gain entry into the Octagon.
