UFC Live 6 Results: Fight Night Awards Go To Struve, Johnson, Wiman And Danzig

UFC president Dana White announced the UFC Live 6: Cruz vs. Johnson Fight Night awards at last night's post-fight press conference. Each winner received $65,000 -- tying the record for largest Fight Night award ever given after a cable television event with August's UFC Live 5.

The winners were:

  • Stefan Struve: Submission of the Night.
Struve tapped Pat Barry with a triangle choke at 3:22 of the second round.
  • Anthony Johnson: Knock Out of the Night
Johnson finished Charlie Brenneman at 2:49 of the first round with a high kick to the face.
  • Matt Wiman and Mac Danzig: Fight of the Night
Wiman and Danzig fought it out for an absolutely brutal three rounds that Wiman took by unanimous decision (29-28x3).
"I was eventually able to get him, and once I locked it in I wasn't letting it go. When he slammed me, I was able to put my arm down to catch myself and sink the submission in deeper," Struve told announcer Joe Rogan after the fight.

"I landed that head kick and put him on the canvas. He looked done to me, but if that kick hadn't have done it, the punches that would have come afterwards would have," Johnson said after the bout.

"I can't deny that it feels good to be on this side of things. You really never know what the judges are going think, and I'm just happy it fell to me this time," Matt Wiman said after the fight.
