As expected, the list of official medical suspensions for UFC 136 was released by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Monday. In total, five fighters were among those suspended, including lightweight headliners Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. MMA Junkie first reported the news.
Lightweight challenger Maynard received the steepest penalty, being suspended for 60 days as a result of damage inflicted in his failed shot at the UFC title. Edgar, on the other hand, received a slightly reduced 45-day suspension for his work.
Leonard Garcia and Mike Massenzio were handed similar 45-day suspensions due to undisclosed injuries. Undercard participant Eric Schafer rounded out the group with a 30-day suspension.
