UFC 142: Aldo Vs. Mendes Weigh-In Results

Official UFC 142 weigh-ins were held at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and streamed live on MMA Nation. All fighters on the card made weight with the exception of one man -- Anthony Johnson. A jump in divisions did little to curb Rumble's notorious weight cutting problems, as the former welterweight tipped in at an astounding 197 pounds, 11 pounds over the 186-pound limit.

"As a fighter, you are a professional," a disappointed Dana White said. "You are contracted to come in at a certain weight. This is not the first time this has happened with Johnson. He moved up to 185 pounds so this wouldn't happen to him at 170 pounds, and here we are in the same position again. [Belfort] came in like a professional on weight, and Anthony Johnson comes in as a total unprofessional, way overweight."

Vitor Belfort has still agreed to fight at a catchweight as long as Johnson weighs under 205 pounds on Saturday. Belfort will also receive 20% of Johnson's purse.

Meanwhile, both featherweight headliners, Jose Aldo (145) and Chad Mendes (144), made weight easily and appeared to be in high spirits. "This is great opportunity for me to come in here and show the world who I am," Mendes said as the raucous Brazilian crowd chanted a phrase that roughly translates to "You're gonna die."

"This is my home country and I'm going to my best for everyone here," Aldo then declared, a wide smile splashed across his face.
