UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and the man who'll be vying to take his belt on November 12, Junior dos Santos, were the featured attractions at today's UFC on Fox press conference in Hollywood, California. They were joined by UFC President Dana White and Fox Television executives to field questions from the press about the event which will be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Velasquez beat Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 in October 2010 to take the title. This will be his first title defense as he injured his rotator cuff during the fight and had to endure surgery and extensive rehab.
Dos Santos earned the title shot by beating Shane Carwin at UFC 131 in June. He coached The Ultimate Fighter opposite Brock Lesnar and was expectated to fight Lesnar at the end of the series. Unfortunately, Lesnar's diverticulitis flared up, necessitating the removal of almost a foot of large intestine.
Lesnar is expected to return to action at UFC 141 against former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 (kickboxing) champ Alistair Overeem, who will be making his UFC debut. That fight will take place December 30 in Las Vegas and the winner is expected to face the winner of Cain vs dos Santos.
