Despite success in the early stages of Quinton Jackson's career, the legend of "Rampage" would not ignite until he landed on the shores of the "Land of the Rising Sun" in mid-2001. Within six years the fighter transformed from relative unknown to beloved superstar on the heels of a spectacular run in Japan's Pride Fighting Championships.
Since then the 33-year-old has moved on to tremendous acclaim, but now he is calling for a chance to return to his roots.
In an interview with MMA Weekly, Jackson expressed an intense desire to fight on the UFC's return to Japan -- planned for February 26th, 2012 -- regardless of the outcome of his upcoming title bout against Jon "Bones" Jones at UFC 135.
"Honestly, win or lose this fight I still want to fight in Japan," Jackson told MMAWeekly Radio. "I love Japanese fans, they know how to respect a fighter and they know what's up. Win or lose this fight I would like to be on the Japan show."
"I love Japan, I miss the Japanese fans," Jackson stated. "I would love to go and put a show on in front of them."
Speaking purely as a fan still with a soft spot for the golden age of Pride, I can't help but grin at the prospect of seeing "Rampage" powerbomb an opponent in front of legions of adoring Japanese fans one last time. Make it happen UFC.

No way do they make this fight if Jackson has the belt. He’s got to lose to have a chance at fighting on a card that’s this hard for the UFC to cash in on. That said, I’m sure putting Rampage on the card would be great for ticket sales!

How sick would Rampage Vs Henderson be in Japan...
It would be a pretty amazing throwback main event. Though I wouldn’t mind seeing Rampage vs Rashad for the belt on that card either.

that would be pretty cool
Rampage on the card would be cool, but Hendo or if they had another fighter they got hold of that was big in pride vs. him would be cool.
The UFC should make use of having some of these old Pride guys that are still fighting by using them in Japan.

The only other non title fight I would want to see in Japan involving Rampage
would be Rampage vs Shogun. Rampage/Shogun or Rampage/Henderson would both be perfect main events.
