Officials from Bellator Fighting Championships have released the television ratings from Saturday's Bellator 48 event. The news was first reported by MMA Junkie Tuesday afternoon.
Overall, the cap-off to Bellator's "Summer Series" drew 226,000 viewers nationwide, ranking in as the promotion's fifth most successful MTV2 broadcasted event. It is the seventh of fourteen Bellator-MTV2 aired events this year to top 200,000 viewers, as well as the fourth in the last five shows to reach the mark.
An immediate replay after the conclusion of Bellator 48 drew a reported 114,000 viewers.
Bellator 48 was held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, and was headlined by the finals of the promotion's eight-man featherweight tournament. Pat Curran scored a highlight-reel head kick knockout over top-10 ranked Marlon Sandro to claim the $100,000 prize and a shot at the promotion's featherweight title.
