Brazilian Lightweight Prospect Ricardo Tirloni Signs With Bellator
Bellator's roster continues to look more impressive with each passing month. In their latest coup, the promotion confirmed Monday that they have signed top Brazilian lightweight prospect Ricardo Tirloni to a multifight deal.
"Our objective is to sign the most talented fighters possible from every corner of the globe and Ricardo Tirloni certainly fits that bill," said Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney in an official press release. "Our lightweight division is turning into one of our deepest weight classes, and Ricardo should have great impact on that already stacked division."
Tirloni (13-1) enters into the organization sporting an impressive pedigree. The 28-year-old is in the midst of a 10 fight win streak that stretches back to 2008. He has finished opponents in 11 of his 13 victories, including a first-round submission of UFC veteran Brian Cobb and a forty-second knockout of WEC veteran Anthony Morrison. Tirloni's lone loss came four years ago at the hands of UFC lightweight contender Ben Henderson.
A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Tirloni currently trains with Team Ataque Duplo in Brazil under UFC veteran Thiago Tavares. His first fight under the Bellator banner has yet to be determined.
