ROUND 1 - Both fighters open standing orthodox. Now Assuncao switching stances. Assuncao times a punch and lands a double. Pearson trying to stand against the fence. Pearson with an outside leg kick. Assuncao attempting a takedown against the fence, but Pearson's having none of it. Outside leg kick for Pearson. The two exchange a few strikes of minimal significance, but Assuncao gets the better of it.

ROUND 2 - Pearson doing a lot of stalking now, but Assuncao ducks under and nearly lands a takedown. After jockeying for position along the fence, Pearson lands a left right hand to the eye of Assuncao. And now a knee. Pearson pressing Assuncao into the fence, but Assuncao's hanging on. And then Pearson trips Asusncao to the mat, but Assuncao reverses.

ROUND 3 - Assuncao times an outside leg kick and takes Pearson to the mat. As Pearson scrambles, Assuncao takes Pearson's back, but Pearson manages to stand. Now they jockey for position along the fence. Assuncao tries mightily to take Pearson down, but cannot. Outside leg kick from Pearson. Pearson also drives a knee to the face of Assuncao as he reaches in for another takedown. Short left hook for Pearson finds the mark. Driving knee now from Pearson. Assuncao eats several shots in the dying moments of the round as he tries to take Pearson down.
