Two "The Ultimate Fighter 12" castmates have agreed to meet at the UFC's sophomore effort on network television.
According a tweet sent out by lightweight prospect Cody McKenzie (12-2), he and fellow lightweight Michael Johnson (9-6) are scheduled to clash at UFC on Fox 2. Promotion officials have yet to confirm the match-up.
McKenzie is most well-known for his penchant for guillotine chokes. Following his first professional fight, the 23-year-old ripped through an absurd streak of eleven straight finishes by guillotine -- including his UFC debut against Aaron Wilkinson -- before falling into two consecutive rear-naked chokes against Yves Edwards and Vagner Rocha.
Likewise, Johnson, a 25-year-old knockout artist from Missouri, has discovered his own struggles inside the Octagon. Following the conclusion of the show, "The Menace" sandwiched a TKO victory over Eddie Faaloloto between tough losses to TUF 12 winner Jonathan Brookins and British submission ace Paul Sass.
UFC on Fox 2 is slated for January 28, 2012 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Young contender Phil Davis challenges former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans in the night's main event.
UFC on Fox 2 fight card:
Light heavyweight: Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis
Bantamweight: Demetrious Johnson vs. Eddie Wineland
Lightweight: Evan Dunham vs. Paul Sass
Heavyweight: John Olav Einemo vs. Mike Russow
Lightweight: Cody McKenzie vs. Michael Johnson
